The Daniel Boone Merchants Association, Historic Speedway Group and Bull City Street Rod Association present a Cruise-In With a Twist to be held at The Shops at Daniel Boone May 2, June 6 and August 1 from 1-4PM. There will also be a "Dancing with the Cars" Cruise-in and Sock Hop on August 28 starting at 5PM with no end time scheduled. These free events welcome cars, trucks and motorcycles to participate as well as all spectators. There will be event t-shirts and other door prizes given, as well as a 50/50 drawing. There will also be a drawing for a top prize of $500, 2nd prize of $250, 3rd prize of $150, and 4th and 5th prizes of $50 each. People can enjoy food prepared by Andy's Burgers as they browse the vehicles and walk through the shops.

James J. Freeland, a longtime resident of Hillsborough, began developing then Daniel Boone Country in 1965 as a recreational area for the people in Orange County and is still owned by the Freeland family today. The Shops at Daniel Boone are the most unique tourist attraction of Historic Hillsborough and there is something for the young and old alike.
